How to Sponsor Your Leads
61Sponsoring leads into your business can be one of the most challenging aspects of network marketing. There are network marketing veterans who have this down to a science. I’m here to provide information to those who are just starting in network marketing and want to learn the basics of sponsoring leads. It’s important to understand that in order to properly sponsor leads; you have to have a strategy. Before you can sponsor leads, you have to have an action plan.
What is this alleged Action Plan?
- First you have to Master Questions. “Questions, oh my!” Yes, people are going to ask questions on the what, why, how, and when of it all. Remember, questions are not stumbling blocks; they can actually put you in control. Most of the time your leads will answer their own questions, so just listen to what your sponsor is saying.
- Have a daily routine. Create at least one piece of quality content/day (article, blog, video etc.). It’s important not to miss a day of this. Although this will not create immediate success, it will contribute to your greatly in the long run. By creating quality content you have references for your leads and it easy to gain credibility.
- Focus at least half an hour/day on marketing (Blogging, socializing, etc.)
- Focus at least 15-20 minutes/day on mindset (goals)
- Make connections with your leads offline, online, or both to avoid them losing interest.
When can I promote my business!!!
Slow down. No one has ever walked before they have crawled. Sponsoring requires that you build relationships first. Communicate with people and get to know what it is they want or need. Determine what their style is of communication is. Do they like what they “see” in your business? If so, connect with them through visual communication.
Need to Know
There are two types of prospects:
- Conceptual Prospects- Those who see great rewards and want to jump on the opportunity right away!
- Process Prospects- Those who want to find the the how to of it all; they are not that interested in how great the reward is. This is a more difficult prospect.
Be prepared to deal with both types of prospects.
Don’ts of Sponsoring
Don’t be a Sales Pitcher. This is the number one mistake marketers make when they first start out. Establish a relationship before pitching your sales. Truthfully, people rather have free, valuable information.
Don’t talk too much. Keep your conversation brief. You don’t have to mention every benefit of your business, because most people already know of these benefits. You don’t want to talk your way out of a lead.
Don’t try to convince. Trying to convince someone that something is worthwhile will only land you back at square one. If someone objects your opportunity, don’t try to convince them neither should you defend what it is you are offering. Listen to what they have to say, because most of the time, they will sell themselves.
Don’t lose momentum. Going back to your daily routine, make sure you’re creating at least one piece of content/day (blog, article, etc.)
